Doroethy Briggs Leonard - Vice President
I was born in Juneau, Alaska (never mind what year), then my family moved to Denver, Colorado. However, all my adult years have been in Phoenix, Arizona. Now, since I retired this year, I am happily able to spend my summers in Lone Pine, California. I taught second grade years ago and then had six lovely children (now all grown up and then some). I am proud of my Masters in Education, as I struggled to get that as a single mom and working part time. My Masters in Counseling Psychology is the fulfilling of my dream and has led to my teaching classes at a community college, as well as private practice. My interests in Phoenix are the Phoenix Friends of C. G. Jung for which I was president for 5 years, and I am now on the advisory board. I recently facilitated a study group on Jung which was well received. In addition, I attend monthly study group on Sri Aurobindo, the East Indian philosopher/mystic. However, my greatest love is Franklin Merrell-Wolff, both on the personal level and with his transcendental philosophy. I inherited his Lone Pine property of 400 acres. Years ago we asked for how to name this property through the newsletter, we chose Great Space Center. I began publishing the Sangha in the mid-1970s with a friend of mine, Karen Bretz. Now Ron and I continue this, along with my daughter Jennifer. I turned over the unpublished and published material to the Merrell-Wolff Fellowship, Inc. so the archives would be preserved. This includes over 500 hours on tape. I have about 250 pages of the biography on Franklin Wolff completed, except for organizing footnotes and chapter titles.
